How To Use Unrefined Shea Butter
While it's commonly known that raw shea butter can benefit a variety of skin conditions, there are a number of lesser-known uses. In fact, shea butter can be used in a variety of different manners, from skin care to food preparation and more. At 24 Karite Gold, we only carry raw, unrefined and wild crafted shea butter in order to ensure the highest product quality. Our shea butter is sourced directly from Ghana, Africa where we have a partnership with a fair trade women's collective that practices sustainable and traditional harvesting and processing methods.
Unrefined Shea Butter Uses
Shea butter is one of the best natural moisturizers for the skin because of its anti-inflammatory properties and high levels of antioxidants and EFA's. And these same properties that benefit your skin are also great for other areas of your body. For example, shea butter is used as an ingredient in many hair care products because of its ability to lock in moisture and prevent hair from drying out. It can also be used to help alleviate dandruff, frizzy hair and even split ends. Another common use for shea butter is for acne scars. The way it helps is by soothing damaged skin and the irritation caused by acne. Additionally, if you use any prescription products for your acne, your skin might be getting dried out. Shea butter will moisturize your skin and help prevent it from peeling, cracking and drying out any further. You can also use shea butter as a vegan-friendly substitute for butter. Simply melt a dollop in a frying pan and saute vegetables, or use it on pancakes for a delicious, rich flavor. You can also toss a teaspoon of shea butter in your smoothies for a creamy flavor and smooth texture.
Our Raw Shea Butter
Our unrefined shea butter comes from a women's cooperative in Ghana, Africa. By participating in the co-op, these women now have the means to provide for their family's needs, including education and other things they previously were not able to afford. Instead of being limited to minimal income from growing subsistence crops that require hard physical labor, they now get to work with a community of local women doing something meaningful and financially rewarding. This has also allowed us to provide you with the absolute best raw, unrefined shea butter on the market. Because of our quality standards, you never have to worry about whether or not our products are safe or effective.
